Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda is a sovereign country located in East Africa. Its form of government is that of a presidential republic, whose territory is made up of 111 districts. Its capital and most populous city is Kampala with 1,208,544 inhabitants (2002). The country borders Lake Victoria to the southeast, Kenya to the east, South Sudan to the north, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, and Rwanda and Tanzania to the southwest.

Temperate tropical climate due
to altitude. The warm season in Uganda lasts from December to February and
temperatures in the north are higher than in the south: Northern Uganda has a
warmer and drier climate (33ºC) than the south of the country, where rains are
abundant and temperatures more moderate. Uganda has two rainy seasons: March to
May and October to December.
